Hi hi! Well what do we have here…. that’s right we have a ‘What I Wore Last Week’ but it’s basically all or any selfie I took in August. August sipped away like a bottle of wine my friends and I only have a few cute outfits to show from it. From the end of summer to back to school to birthdays to soccer season starting all in one month, I was not the best dressed this month. (Unless you count the same pair of shorts and sweatshirt that I washed and repeated and definitely did not document as high fashion, of course.)
But with September coming up so soon, I’m feeling so inspired for fall. What about you guys? I’m ready for the layers, I’m ready for the fall fashion, I’m ready for 80 degrees and gaslighting myself into wearing a sweater that day. I’m also ready for the return of jeans — I’ve been loving this pair from Quince., by the way. Side note — does anyone miss the moodboards I used to do? I’m trying to decide if it’s a bring back for fall or not. Let me know!
Let’s get to some outfits!
Gap Cotton Tee | Gap Barrel Drawstring Jeans | Ref Sandals | Quince Crossbody
Saturday repeat outfit. You’ve seen this but it’s worth showing again! This has been a go to this month — worn it a few times because a) I know it fits and b) the jeans are so damn conformable. I meant to pick up these jeans when they were on sale in black but I wanted too long. Still thinking about it though…
(I’m in the medium of the tee, medium of the jeans, generous fit.)
Quince Oxford Top | Amazon Boxer Shorts | New Balance Sneakers | Quince Crossbody | Ray-Bans
Airport run. This outfit is a bit like this one here, but with a different button down. This one is less oversized, more tailored and yet the look still hits. This is my ‘I’m tired of summer but it’s still summer’ outfit. On repeat.
(I’m in the medium of the top, TTS, large of the boxes size up)
Shopbop Blazer | Similar Graphic Tee | Gap Shorts | Similar Leather Bag (Madewell) | Sandals
There’s Cat back there, say hi! Or Meow, I’m not fluent yet so I don’t know.
Coffee shop date. I have had this graphic shirt for a few years now — it was old Madewell collab with an artist Kit Agar and it’s been a favorite of mine. I just can’t let it go. Plus it matches my new oversized blazer so well! I couldn’t believe my luck.
(Medium of the blazer it’s very oversized, medium of the shorts, TTS and the tee is old but oversized if you find it secondhand. I’m in the medium.)
Madewell Superwide Leg Jeans | Gap Tee | Tkees Sandals | Similar Leather Bag (Madewell)
This outfit came together just so darn well! I want to wear it again immediately. This pair of jeans is from my Nuuly this month and I really like them. Thinking about keeping these, actually. They’re from Madewell and I find the waist runs a touch small. I had tried on this style before (Superwide leg) and found the waist to run small so I sized up to a 30 and love the fit. You can find them here.
I’ve been loving these gap tees lately! I’m in the medium, perfectly oversized.
Gap Tee | Anthro Trousers | Adidas Sambas | YSL Crossbody | Black Belt Bag (similar)
I’m still trying to figure out how to take photos from this angle so pardon me if this one is a bit awkward. I’m working out the kinks of being an elder millennial on the internet. This outfit will be a post next week but I thought I’d share it anyways!
This is that favorite gap tee again. Highly recommend this tee. It’s a nice quality and I was so afraid that after I washed it it wouldn’t keep the same integrity of the fabric, but it has! (I was it on cold, hang to dry.) No piling, no stretched out shape, it’s perfect. I also like that it’s slightly boxy, not cropped and the sleeve length is perfect if you don’t love a super short sleeve. I’m picky with tees and this one ticks all the boxes. Find it here (I’m in the medium.)
I’m in the medium of the trousers – perfect fit!
Alex Mill Sweatshirt (sold out) | Similar Top – Gap | Colette Pants | Adidas Sambas | Quince Crossbody
Weekday. I am damned and determined to make this black Adidas Sambas to work for me. I bought them in the spring and just almost returned them. But I realized that I think I was a season too early — these are fall shoes for sure. So I’m on a mission to make them work this fall. Get used to seeing them, I’m on one.
These are some pants from my Nuuly this month — the Colette fit in an almost sweater like texture. See here:
Truth be told they’re too warm to wear right now, but we had a cooler day this week so I wore them. They’re just meh for me, they’re cute for a rental but I don’t think I’d buy them. I’m in the 30 and they fit perfectly.
Zara Linen Top | Madewell Peasant Skirt | Similar Madewell Purse | Tkees Sandals
Weekday. I feel like this outfit was cuter in person, very flowy and chic. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. Hopefully you can see the vision. Pairing two loose pieces together is a risk and I took it. This is that Zara linen top that I ended up keeping! I realized that I could rip the loose stitch of the straps and then custom tie them for a better length. That made me love this top! I am in the medium, it runs loose.
My skirt is on sale at Madewell! I’m in the medium it’s a very generous fit.
Evereve Top | Gap Linen Shorts | Ref Sandals
Soccer practice. These Gap linen shorts have been my most worn short this summer. I constantly reach for them and I’m really impressed with the quality. I’ve washed and worn them and they haven’t faded or pilled, like I expected them too. (They’re a linen blend so any type rayon or viscose is involved there will be pilling.) I quickly tossed this outfit on to run to soccer practice and it came together quite well! I love this sweatshirt from Evereve — it’s French Terry fabric but in a cute little cut. Feels like an elevated sweatshirt in a way. I’m in the medium, TTS. (PS its on sale!)
Similar Zara Sweater Vest | Delaney Contrast Pants | Amazon Mesh Shoes
Birthday dinner. One more outfit from this month’s Nuuly! (These pants are just almost sold out at Anthro but these are basically the same just cropped length.) I’m on the fence on these pants — they’re really cute but they fit smaller than expected. (This is the 30!) The waistband was just a bit too snug for me but had they fit a little looser overall I would have loved the fit on me. In this case, I’m glad I can send them back to Nuuly, but glad I got to try them out.
Zara Top | Mother Hustler Jeans | Schutz Sandals
Date night. This outfit feels weirdly nostalgic for me but I can’t put my finger on the timeline or era. I’m thinking though 2010s perhaps, when I wore a lot of looser tops? The top is giving tunic of the 2010s and I respect it honestly. I tossed this quick little outfit on for a quick dinner date with B. Nothing too fancy but the heels leveled the look up.
Also. I can see why these are best selling jeans. They’re so freaking flattering and comfortable. They’re now on sale for less than the Anniversary sale, so you can find them here!
Frame Denim Dress | Similar Dress H&M | Ref Sandals
Weekday. I’ve got a whole post about this for next week but this dress has a very similar option from H&M here! I saw it the other day while walking through H&M and couldn’t believe my eyes. This one is from Frame and is on major sale at Nordstrom Rack. I’m in the Medium, fit is TTS!

That’s it for August! See you next week 🙂
