I’m going to be so for real right now: I lowkey hate in-store shopping now. This is straight up BLASPHEMY coming from my fingertips because I truly love retail. If you’ve been here for a while you know I love a retail shop (heck I owned three!), I love retail design, I love merchandising… probably more than I should. I love retail marketing and branding. Like I will walk into Anthropologie and let THEM decide who I am for that day and shop accordingly. But now – and maybe it’s just a phase I’m in – shopping in store just feels arduous and overwhelming. This doesn’t just extend to clothing stores, I literally haven’t stepped foot into a Costco in a year because I just get so overwhelmed. This goes for all stores. And then after I shop in store for say a try on, I typically find more things I like better online, after the fact.
Perhaps you feel this way too? Perhaps that is why you enjoy try-ons or other style influencers? If that is the case, then I totally get it because shopping is not what it used to be. So anyways, I waltzed into Old Navy on Friday of last week not really knowing what to expect. The store was busy and packed with product, but not well merchandised at all. Stacks on stacks of clothing; none of it seemingly went together. Everything felt overwhelming. So I started with what caught my eye and it was this red cardigan. My immediate thought was “hey this looks like the the Emile Cardigan from Sezane.” And then I started finding piece after piece that looked just like something from a Sezane ad. I’m not even kidding you — these pieces could be mistaken for Sezane, especially styled just right.
I grabbed quite a few sweaters and tried on a few items, that I ended up loving. I wanted to share them here plus I found a few more items online that are so Sezane-inspired. You can find all the details + fits below with my favorite pieces from Old Navy right now. PS: everything is 40% off right now!

Printed High Waist Jeans + Sweater
Trust me when I saw this color of green is prettier in person than it is online. I was immediately drawn to this sweater because of the color, but online it doesn’t read as pretty. It’s a vibrant olive green, not putrid like on their site. It’s more of what you see here but there are other colors, too. I am in the medium, it runs TTs, slightly cropped.
I love this pair of denim – and I typically don’t love an ON jean. I like the pattern first off – it is such a Sezane dupe. Secondly I like that it’s high waisted and just slightly straight, it has a 90s mom jean feel to it. They’re very stretchy but still fitted. I am in the 8, but I opted for the 10s just so they’d be more comfortable around my waist. (That’s where the most fitted!) Definitely recommend while on sale!

Shaker-Stich Oversized Cardigan
This sweater is a crazy good Sezane dupe, a bit chunkier than the Emile Cardigan As far as style, color and cut – the fabric is a wool blend and slightly itchy as well. (I wore a similar sweater like this in this capsule here!) I am in the medium and it runs big as in it’s a loose, relaxed fit. Comes in a few other hues as well!

SoSoft Cropped Cardigan
The sosoft line really is so soft – I would take the fabric of this cardigan in a full blanket if possible. I really liked this powder blue hue, but ultimately didn’t get this cardigan because it’s just too close in color to that Quince sweater I’ve been wearing lately. I am in the medium. Runs relaxed, but true to size.

Ruffle Neck Cropped Sweater
I LOVED this sweater but… only in this color. The pink and the ivory look cheap in person, the ivory being a bit thin as well. But this slate blue looks like Sezane and would look amazing with black jeans or dark denim. It’s such a dupe — I’m telling you! However, they did not have a medium at mine so this is the small. It is too small as it’s not supposed to be this fitted. So it is TTS, but my TTS wasn’t available.

Long Sleeved Smocked Top
I loved this top – it’s 100% cotton, I believe, but quite lightweight in the sleeves. It has smocking throughout the bodice with the sleeves are slightly puffy. It’s slightly thin, but overall a nice weight. I am in the medium but it does run pretty snug / short for me. If I were to purchase this top, I would have gone with a large. This is a nice option for a holiday top plus they have two plaid options as well!
A Few More to Add to Cart

The Anna Sui Embroidered Blouse
The Printed Denim Chore Jacket
Just thought I’d add these options to the round up too! You can shop Old Navy at 40% off through this week here.
