The chunky boots, the white tee under the oversized sweater, the black mini. You would think that I am describing anyone from Empire Records but alas, it’s just my outfit. Ironically enough I didn’t even realize how 90s all of these items were until I put them all together. (Cue ‘Isn’t it ironic? Don’t you think?’ sound bite)
It’s funny because so many times trends creep up on me. I used to be a trend chaser, loved a good trend. But now I find myself just buying what I like and if it’s in trend, it’s in trend. This whole look is a great example ; it’s all made up of recent pieces from different retailers and just look how 90s. I think that goes to show just how throwback trends are right now. 90s I’m ok with, 00s I will struggle with. Rewearing anything from my high school days isn’t on any of my future bingo cards.
This is the softest sweater from Nordstrom and it’s under $50. It’s perfectly oversized too. This is the medium and it fits quite big, so keep that in mind. Plus it comes in so many colors! I like this deep chocolate brown but you can’t go wrong with any hue in this sweater.
