Hi friends! First week back from spring break over here, how about you guys? I know Texas is on a very different schedule than the rest of the world it seems, but our spring break has come and gone and I’m kind of sad about it. This spring is flying by for us over here! This week I launched my pre-loved shop for March (did you know I do monthly drops??) so if you bought something this week, I’m packing it up this weekend. We had a normal week but I felt very rushed all week. Does that make sense at all? And like I thought Thursday was Wednesday and was devastated when I finally looked at a calendar yesterday and realized I’d been living in the past all day. I wanted to get a few more things done this week, but it’s Friday and we all know if it’s not done by Friday, it ain’t happening this week. But you know what is happening? Last week’s outfits! Let’s go.

Friday | WFH

Spanx sent me some shorts to try out and I LOVE them. I would 100% categorize these as 90s mom shorts and I’m fine with it. I’ve really stopped caring about coming across as not my age lately. I used to shy away from these kind of shorts (high rise, longer lengths well for me anyway) but you know what? This shit is comfortable. These shorts are bit more fitted bc they have compression in them, but they fit well and are very flattering at the waist. I’m in the large, highly recommend. Find them here!

Also I’ve got a spring shoe guide coming and to be honest I need to take my own advice and get some new spring flats. I pulled out these Quince flats and while I do like them, I don’t love this color. New spring shoes coming soon.

Saturday | Family Dinner Party

We went to a friend’s house for a cookout / dinner party where all of our kids hang out as well. One of the guests works for a wine distributor and we had an impromptu wine tasting. If this is a glimpse into summer, I’m very excited about that. I will gladly drink free wine and give my uneducated opinions.

Would you believe that sometimes I don’t hang up my clothes and instead they end up in a ‘to hang’ laundry basket that I completely forget about until I’m missing something and then I dump the basket out and find all of my favorite but neglected things all waded up? You WOULD?! Yeah, honestly you should because this happens to me all the time. I found this shirt in my to hang pile and immediately put it on. I love this top from Gap, so it’s been hung and will be back in my normal outfit rotation again.

Finally found a pair of white jeans!! This pair is the High Rise Slim Leg from J.Crew. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It’s stretchy and runs generously. I’m in the 30 and there’s plenty of wiggle room.  Find them here.

Saturday | Date Night

I might actually repeat this outfit again it’s so good. This is a pair of satin shorts from Anthro which are a direct knock off from Reformation. I wasn’t sure if I’d like this style so I rented them from Nuuly and I’ve ended up loving them this month. I’m in the large, fit is TTS for me. Not too tight, nice overall fit.

I wanted a beige blazer and my favorite brand at Shopbop was sold out of my size so I went with this one from Amazon. I really like it — it’s your typical poly blazer with an oversized fit. The lining is sewn in nicely, it fits loosely overall. It’s a keeper for me.  (I’m in the large)

Monday | Shopping w/ my girl

On the last day of our spring break, we went spring shopping. It’s our tradition after all. It’s already warm here (which I say ironically because this day it was cool enough for a sweater) and we realized this month that Gemma didn’t have any shorts that fit and the shoes were the next to go. So we hit up her favorite places and within an afternoon, we had some new spring clothes. Gemma has very much come into her own style; she knows what she likes and wants to wear so I try to let her stay in her own lane. What used to be the days of me ordering her stuff online with zero input is now a shopping trip where she does the shopping. I’m just glad she let’s me come along 😉

I wore this and kinda felt frumpy all day. You know those days? Outfit is fine, but I’d probably swap the shoes next time but they are so so so comfortable. The softest leather, too!

Tuesday | Work @ Coffee Shop

This is your typical I don’t know what to wear so I just grab my favorite things kind of outfit. I love this Madewell top and I had just got these Spanx jeans in the mail so this was the ‘fit! Also these jeans are tight tight — not like they don’t fit, just more like compression jeans. I wasn’t expecting that to be honest! I’m in the medium and they are a great fit, but expect some compression at the waist. (It’s a welcomed perk around here.)

Wednesday | Therapy + WFH

I bought this top in large, but I think I might need a medium. It runs generously overall and I didn’t realize this until I was wearing it! Otherwise it’s opaque, a nice weight of denim and the fit is flouncy and loose. Find it here.  

Wearing my favorite Quince jeans! I’m in the 30, perfect fit. I find Quince jeans to run tighter at the waist across the board, so size up or down accordingly.

Thursday | WFH

LOVE this jumpsuit so much! It’s their new French rib and it’s a bit thinner overall than the typical jumpsuit fabric. It’s still a great weight, but this is a nice weight for spring. I’m in the medium, fit is a bit generous I’d say.

Also I lowkey love how much bag + flats match. My favorite Clare V. Crossbody is coming out this season! It’s such a nice staple for spring.
