Oversized Sweater | Silk Pants
I’ve realized that this outfit is THE answer to any of my holiday outfit quandaries. Office party? This outfit. Casual holiday dinner party with friends? This outfit. Christmas Eve service? This outfit. I don’t typically lean towards just one outfit for the holiday season, as you very well know if you’ve been here for a bit. I’m a bit of a maximalist with a side of yes, please. But I’ve also realized that December moves at a 2x pace and my outfit planning time for events has now passed. That party I needed an outfit for? It’s tonight. So this outfit is my go-to and I wanted to share it with you. Because I have a hunch, you’ll like this combo too.
So how do you make this outfit work? Well first you need a slightly oversized sweater. I like this one from Amazon because it’s perfectly oversized and not too long, but you can take your pick of some options I’ve pulled below. (I’m in the large.) Next you need either a pair of silk or satin pants OR you can also pull out our tried and true silk midi skirt. And my friends, that is it. The key is the slightly oversized sweater but not sloppy oversized and a silky bottom of your choice. And boom, you look like a million bucks. Plus it’s really comfortable and I’ve realized that in my 40s looking cute is first, but feeling comfortable is a very close second.
