If you’re shopping for the big kid stage (7 to 10), I’m sure you have a very circled Amazon toy catalog like I do. But I like to find items that I know will get used past January. I tried to pull together a gift guide is full of fun, screen-free-ish, imagination-sparking picks that they’ll reach for again and again. And a few things that are Gemma approved, as well!
A Few Favorites
- Squishmallow: If you are buying for a kid under the age of 10 (probably older than that, but my expertise doesn’t extend that far!), you can never go wrong with a Squishmallow. I can’t explain it but it’s like this generations’ beanie babies. I’ve had to put a Squishmallow limit on our household, so now we just hug them and let them go in the store, but I’m telling you. If you need a gift for a little one, it’s a Squishmallow.
- Magna-Tiles: You may already have a set of magna-tiles, but I’m telling you this is a toy that kids continue to play with. Gemma had some when she was 2 or 3 and she still builds with them. It’s a great gift idea if you haven’t bought them before!
- Nugget Play Couch: We got this last year and it is 100% worth the hype. Gemma plays with this every single week. We also have the Nugget Chunk option, too. Highly recommend both! She even asked for another nugget this year — that’s how much she loves it. (She’s 8 by the way, so it’s not just for littles!)
- Christmas PJs + Santa Slippers: Christmas PJs are always a win in our house. I typically give them before Christmas so we can get the most wear out of them. Plus I found these Santa Slippers from Zara — how cute are they?!
