9 Ways to Style Silk Pants this Fall

These silk pants were quite the surprise for me this fall. I am trying to shake my style up and so a pair of silk pants felt like a challenge in the best way possible. I love the idea of them, but my biggest concern was them looking pajama-adjacent. If I’m going to walk around town in pajamas, I’m not going to do it in heels. So I popped over to Pinterest and then I started writing down ideas of how I could wear and pair them with different things and before I knew it I had 9 outfits created, all from my closet. I could probably try a few more as well, which leads me to believe that these aren’t so much of a challenge after all. I think the idea of silk feels complicated, but really I treated them like a regular trouser and the outfits came together naturally. I like this beige color but I do think the black would be even more versatile and more casual leaning.

Each outfit below is pretty straight forward so I’m not going to wax poetically about each piece. What I learned by styling these is to stay neutral with my tops and let the pants take center stage. Layering with luxe pieces came naturally but I also love the juxtaposition of a simple tee with the silk pants. I found simple shoes worked best with each of my looks — neutral heels, pointed toe flats or a simple sandal.

As far as fit on these pants, I sized up to a large because I didn’t want to chance any tightness around my waist or derriere. These fit me slightly loose and I love the fit. I find that it lends to a classier look. Size up if in between sizes, perhaps but I do think the large fit me true to size and the length is spot on for my 5’9″ frame.
