I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I’ve been trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe lately. Since it’s almost spring and I adore all of the brights blues, butter yellow and neon pinks that I’ve been collecting, it’s been fun to pop in some color as I tend to wear neutrals only. Posting this outfit feels like the opposite of spring, it feels like I’m going backwards into winter again but I did really love wearing this outfit. Even dark neutrals can be for spring, too. Plus this outfit has everything I love including my newest obsession of these specific Spanx jeans and finally a polo top that works on me. I’ve been on the hunt for a while to find a polo that doesn’t send me straight back to the hell that was 2006 Old Navy. Remember when we layered polo shirts with our long madras plaid shorts? Don’t even try to act better than me and say ‘No’ you don’t remember. OH, YOU REMEMBER. We were all going down on that Old Navy ship, surrounded by the choppy waters of Forever 21. A fair warning for Gen Z: don’t fall victim to the long plaid shorts of yesteryear or one day our mistakes will become yours.
So back to this polo sweater, I really do struggle finding myself in these revamped trends. Just based on my body type (which is big boobs, broad shoulders…so an apple I guess? who is also a defensive line man?) polo tops are hard for me to feel pretty in. More often than not I look like I’m ready to sell you something at an expo. But this one…this J.Crew one made me actually feel chic for once. I think it’s because it’s a looser fit overall and especially in the shoulders, which really works for me. It’s a really cute sweater if you want that preppy look but don’t want to go too prep school. Also it’s on sale! Find it at J.Crew here.
(PS: I’m in the medium, it’s a loose fit.)
I won’t give you too much of a spiel on these jeans because you already know I love them so. But I will say I’ve worn them nonstop since I got them. They do run generously, so stick to their sizing guide! Find them here.

We need a shoe link too please 🙂 🙂
I can confirm that even in dark neutral tones, you always look very chic. And I don’t think I’m deluding myself when I see this grace in you even when you’re wearing nothing at all.
Such a fun and relatable post 😂
Love how you’re adding color while still keeping your neutral vibe. And that Old Navy throwback—too real 😅
Also appreciate the honest fit review, makes the polo recommendation super helpful!
