I’m not one to use words like ‘must have’ or ‘need’ too often but I sure did today. I love this maxi dress for fall. I do not know why I am on such a maxi dress kick, truly I didn’t realize it till I was scrolling through my latest looks and boy howdy and I on one. But this one is the mother of all the maxis. It feels so elegant but casual at the same time (see: flip flops). It’s slinky too and the right weight — it’s midweight enough to hold its shape and drape but not too heavy that it feels hot. Which is why it’s nice for now and for later. I’m envisioning this with a leather jacket or an oversized denim jacket later, too. Very versatile indeed.

For now though, I wore it with flip flops the other day. I feel like flip flops are tiptoeing their way back into style; it’s not quite there 100% yet but it’s getting close. I had these in my close from years ago so I pulled them right back into rotation this summer. We don’t have too much longer in sandals, but I highly recommend if you have some in your archives to pull them out. Unless they’re the 00’s old navy ones, you can keep those buried.

I am in the large of the dress. I like this size for more room in the chest, as it is most fitted there and the underarms. Find it under $100 at Zara!

This Madewell bag is I think about 4 years old and it has made it through several rounds of elimination for my pre-loved shop. I just love the curved shape of it and the pockets on the outside. If I ever sell this one, please know she was loved. I have found a pretty similar one (smaller, no side pockets) at Madewell right now as well, so I’ll link it here!
