If you’ve been staring at your closet wondering what shoes actually feel current for spring 2026—you’re not alone. I’ve got you girl! In fact for the last month, I’ve been doing my own shoe shopping and I’ve narrowed it down to this 10 styles. I’ve thought way too long and hard about shoes but you know what? I think I’ve perfected this list.
This season is less about chasing every trend and more about subtle updates to styles you already know and love. What I’ve noticed the most is that shoe trends are leaning more practical, wearable, and quietly polished. These are the pairs that work with your everyday outfits. Remember we want to make getting dressed feel easier, not harder and the right shoe can do that. If you’re looking to refresh your shoe lineup without overthinking it (because I’ve already done that!), these are the 9 styles worth wearing this season. I’ve broken down each trend below with extra options, too ranging from $30-200.
WOVEN BALLET FLAT
A fresh update to the classic ballet flat, the woven texture adds dimension while keeping things breathable for spring. Easy to pair with denim, dresses, and everything in between. If you have long loved a ballet flat, try this update this spring. I love the woven look and they’re very comfortable. Pro-tip: If you go with a darker woven fabric or leather, it’s an easier upkeep!
NEUTRAL SLIDE
Minimal in the best way with this choice. This is the pair you keep by the door and reach for daily! A neutral slide is simple, versatile, and easy to style, especially in late summer (even though I know this is a spring guide, let’s be real these are for the next 6+months) These are perfect for casual outfits, travel days, the pool or even just errands. (PS: you can also go with a black slide, as black is a neutral too! Having one nude color and one black, you’ll be set.)
CHUNKY SANDAL
A chunky sandal (think Birkenstock) adds structure and balance to lighter spring outfits and gives a full casual vibe. They balance out softer spring pieces and gives even the simplest outfit a cool girl feel. I am a fair-weather Birkenstock shopper but I do love the PVA versions because they are less bulky and very wearable at the pool / beach. Also, this pair from Target is a crazy good deal! You can go with a leather look or the PVA, either way they’re a nice slip on all spring long.
ROUNDED POINTED TOE
A softer take on the pointed toe flat which has been a favorite of mine this past fall! But this silhouette feels casually polished without being too sharp, too stuffy. It’s also a go-to work shoe that transitions easily into everyday wear, works well with denim too as a nice transitionary piece. This is my in-between a heel and a flat option and I found so many pretty pastel options for spring!
WEDGE SANDAL
For a little height without sacrificing comfort, the wedge sandal is back for spring. It’s flattering, walkable, and ideal for long days on your feet but when you need a little (or a lot) of height. I like both a 2″ or 3″ lift, but obviously the higher the wedge, the harder it is to walk or wear all day. I’ve linked a few different options, but you can’t go wrong with a neutral mule this spring / summer. It’s truly my go-to.
KITTEN HEEL
You know what? It was bound to happen in the 15 years of blogging: I’ve come around to a kitten heel. I know, surprised me too but you know what? A low, walkable heel that feels fresh this season? I’m in. I especially like the little mule kitten heel situation, it almost doubles as a fancy flat, if you will. I think that a kitten heel is perfect for adding subtle polish to spring outfits without committing to a higher heel. This blog is where style AND 40 year old knees are considered.
MESH FLATS
When this trend came around last summer, I was excited albeit a bit skeptical. I ended up with a light pair and a dark pair and I loved them all summer long. I’ve already brought them back this spring so I can confirm that they have a place in your spring wardrobe. Lightweight and breathable, they add texture and interest while keeping your look minimal and effortless.
TOKYO SNEAKERS
I have just one sneaker recommendation for spring and it’s a slim line sneaker. Specifically the Adidas Tokyo sneaker. It’s an updated Sambas and it’s almost ballet like. These low-profile sneakers bring a sporty edge to everyday outfits. Pair them with denim, trousers, or casual dresses and they look cute with shorts, too! You can go with a classic beige / black combo or any of their fun colors for spring!
JELLY FLATS
This very nostalgic trend is making a comeback rather you like it or not, lol. I for one do like it but I haven’t bought any jellies yet! 2026 is my year, my friends and you know what? I actually love it because jelly flats feel playful but can still be styled in a modern way. Look for woven styles to keep them elevated and wearable, even more elevated are the slip on mules.
