I did a little fall browsing at Nordstrom the other day and found eight really good pieces — all under $100. I don’t know about you, but there’s something about a little fall refresh that makes everything feel new again. I tried them all on so you can see what’s worth grabbing for the season. Each piece can easily fit in with what you already have too!

Twist Reversible Sweater
Find it here. I didn’t realize this but this sweater can be worn two ways — with the knot in the front or the back! I’ll have to give that a try beause I think it’d be really pretty warn in the front, too. First off, this sweater is WARM. It’s a blend and it’s definitely a winter sweater. It fits loosely as this is the medium and it’s plenty loose. The back is really pretty, it twists enough that it covers your bra but it gives cool look to the sweater.

PS: my jeans are the $50 ones via Quince! This is probably my favorite style from them and I really like the dark grey / faded black hue for fall. I’m in the 30, fit is looser so I’d say TTS in these. As far as quality, they’re on par with Abercrombie, a step above Old Navy, the Amazon or Target Levi’s. They’re definitely a $50 pair of jeans, but not $75 if that makes sense. They wash out well and don’t loose their shape or softness once washed.

Oversized V-Neck Sweater + Reformation Skirt
Find it here. This one was one of my favorite sweaters from the try on! I know a lot of people don’t like a synthetic blend sweater – and I don’t always either – but there are exceptions to every rule.* I like this one because it’s so soft and bouncy, as it has a bit of stretch to it. Plus I like the weight of it. I got the large and it’s a bit big, so overall it fits TTS in a relaxed fit. Comes in lots of colors and under $50.
I LOVE this Reformation skirt! It’s the blue hue – it’s so pretty and unexpected for fall. It works well with all the neutrals as well. I got the large (I tend to size up with Reformation.) The waist is looser but the lenght is perfect. I’d say it runs true to size waist wise but for length, I prefer a looser fit / longer length. Find it here.
(*Unsolicited advice: As with every sweater, you’re going to want to hang or lay flat to dry. Cotton, wool or synthetic, sweaters tend to be a bit more high maintenance when it comes to the washing and keeping of them. I treat all my sweaters as if they were made of silk — cold wash, lay flat or hang to dry. I don’t care if it cost me $25 or $200, they all get the same care. Even with an acrylic or nylon mixed in there, every sweater will last a lot longer if you don’t apply any heat to the washing or drying process.)

Smocked Gingham Dress
I thought I’d pick up a couple of dresses for my birthday dinner this weekend and this was one of two. Neither of them passed the vibe check, but I thought I’d share my favorite one even if it didn’t make it out on the town.
I love the plaid and the smocking on this dress. This has been a surprisingly flattering dress I’ve found this fall – the smocking up top works for me. I’m in the large but this dress runs pretty generously. This one was a touch big overall. Super cute with more western accents, too! Find it here under $100.

Oversized Modern Blazer
I’ve been on the hunt for a brown blazer and came across this one. I have been loving the oversized blazer and this is a nice oversized fit without being TOO big. It’s fully lined and it has this textured fabric that feels more modern than a classic blazer. (When I say ‘classic’ I’m thinking J.Crew or Ralph Lauren-style structured blazer. This one has a slinkier fabric with soft structure.) I’m in the medium and it does fit well, but if you wanted a looser fit in the arms / shoulders go up one size. Find it here.

Ruffled Floral Top
I loved this top so so much. I had a similar top like this in my cart for Zara but I think this one has one me over. I am in the medium and it’s a looser fit all over. It’s also slightly sheer but the print is dark so it’s quite hard to see much. But a camisole would work easily under this. The metallic thread is pretty subtle, but could work well for the holidays as well. There is a matching skirt if you wanted to make it look like a little dress. Runs relaxed, but true to size. Find it here.

Sleeveless Sweater Vest
This is a boucle-ish type fabric, a slightly looser knit than a typical sweater. I’ve been looking for a beige sweater vest and this isn’t quite it but I do like this still. It’s nice to wear alone / styled over a blouse. I’m in the medium and it’s a looser fit. I’d say true to size, just a relaxed fit. Find it here.

Cableknit Oversized Sweater
I wouldn’t actually pair these two together but I didn’t know this until now. Sometimes a selfie really does help in styling. I really like this sweater – it’s oversized and I like the large cable knit. I’m in the medium. But it IS itchy. I would wear a tank underneath this because it is a bit on the itchy side. Also it’s very very warm!! Find it here.
