This is a mix of last week + this week actually! I just gathered all the recent selfies and said “come on, girls! You’re getting the star treatment on the blog today!” (All but one was excited.) I’ve been trying to wear all my favorite things I’ve procured lately. Since doing a deep clean on my closet in the last year I’ve really kept or added things that I absolutely love. Some of you may have noticed that a lot of it is basics (or basic) and quite minimalist. But I feel like this was a needed change after consuming every trend possible over the past 15 years. Getting dressed is so much easier now with these more simple pieces that I know fit.
Okay let’s get to the outfits!
Evereve x Z Supply Dress | Similar Platforms | Clare V. Bag
I wore this on a day when I was running late and just needed to toss something on and go. It was hanging in my office from the try on and I just grabbed it right up and slipped my platforms on. Honestly hate to admit that pulling this together was so easy. Added my Clare V. Bag because I like the contrast of the dark brown to the cream. Three years and running with this bag — it’s a spring / summer / fall favorite. You ain’t never seeing this gal in the pre-loved shop.
I’m in the medium of the dress, it runs TTS but it is more fitted in the chest. With Z Supply, if you need extra room go up one size. Find the dress here!
Madewell Eyelet Blouse | J.Crew Drapey Shorts | J.Crew Raffia Bag | Similar Platforms
I’ll be honest — I’m a one trick pony with this top. It’s either denim shorts or another pair of denim shorts. And you know what? Hell yeah. I’m fine with this because the blouse is so pretty on its, the denim shorts are the after thought. It’s all about this blouse. I guess I could try another bottom with it…maybe next week?
I am in the medium of the top. It is see through from the eyelet holes but not enough that you have to wear a shirt underneath it. While you can, of course, it would take a real creep to get super close enough to see anything and at that point, even a camisole isn’t going to solve your issue. You need the cops, not a cami.
This top is on sale, by the way! Finally! 24% off at Madewell this week.
My shorts are the J.Crew ones that I’ve been loving. They’re a nice alternative to a regular pair of denim shorts. I’m in the 29, they run generously at the waist.
Amazon Sweater Top | Splendid Palazzo Pant | Quince Leather Bag | Zara Sandals
This is the same Amazon top as last week’s WIWLW, which I washed after my trip and I’m happy to say it washed out well, no shrinkage. (I do hang to dry most of my clothes.) It steamed out well and felt good as new. It’s a loose fit and it’s really lightweight, so it’s fine for summer. I paired it with these Splendid pants that don’t tend to wrinkle much even though I’m sitting through a lot of the day. I am in the medium of the pants — TTS but I do find Splendid to run small.
I’m in the large of the tank — definitely runs big! I would have preferred a medium but I hate returns. Find it for $20 here!
Amazon Top | Quince Poplin Shorts | Clare V. Grande Fanny | Amazon Mesh Flats
This is the same version of an outfit you’re gonna see below but in shorts form. When something works, it works you know? So I really like this Amazon top too. Which is confusing to me because I thought I’d sworn Amazon off but when I gave it another shot because I wanted something before my trip, I ended up liking all four items I purchased and in turn have worn them multiple times. So for me, if that’s the case, then I’ll give Amazon a shot again. I’ve worn this top 4 times since I’ve bought it which just tells me I really like it.
I will say it pills so after I took the crossbody off after wearing it like this all day, I had to take my sweater shaver to it. Just FYI, if there is friction it will pill.
I am in the large of the top — I like this fit! I am in the large of the shorts, only size up for a looser fit. Otherwise these Quince shorts run true to size. AND they are under $30!
Gap Oversized Shirt | Quince Silk Slip Shirt | Tkees Flip Flops | ’47 Baseball Cap
This is my I saw this on Pinterest and tried to make it work outfit. I defiantly don’t hate it and I felt REALLY comfortable wearing it. This oversized shirt trend is a vibe and it’s just comfortable. Both of these pieces feel like pajamas. My original Gap shirt sold out so I linked the other one without the Gap logo, which woudl probably work even better with this look. (Medium for me!)
I am in the large of the silk skirt — highly recommend sizing up in the silk pieces from Quince. I’ve found this to be true for all of their silk pieces, but not the linen. Find it here.
Amazon Knit Top | Quince Poplin Skirt | Tkees Flip Flops | Clare V. Grande Fanny
See? Same outfit, different font from above. I don’t know if this one worked as well as the shorts but I wore it anyways. I’m really trying to give this flip flop trend a go. These are my Tkees from — get this — 10 years ago. Or maybe even more! So this brand lasts, I can say that. They’re the exact same as the ones I’ve linked!
Madewell Tee | Quince Poplin Shorts | Amazon Mesh Flats | Clare V. Grande Fanny
These poplin shorts get their money’s worth I’m telling you. This was just an easy toss on outfit for a weekday, I think it was camp drop off / work at a coffee shop kind of day. Just a nice and easy mom outfit, if I do say so myself.
PS: my tee is marked down! I’m in the medium — it runs true to size but if you want a looser fit go up a size. It’s a boxy but tailored fit.
Madewell Tank | Mango Wrap Skort | Similar sandals | Quince Leather Tote
I’ve had my eye on a denim skort of all things and I ended up finding this one from Mango that actually fits the way I wanted it to. I initially found one at Zara and was on the fence of buying it but this one is bit more roomy in the waist. And that’s literally all I want in life: more room in the waist. I sized up to a large, could do a medium but again I like extra length and waist space. So I’d say it’s TTS. The back is shorts if you were wondering! You can see it here.
Another great basic on sale! This tank is 40% off! I’m in the medium, true to size. Find it here.
Mango Striped Dress | Quince Purse
This dress is like a Terry cloth fabric — that’s the best I can describe it. I know Mango would disagree but that’s what it feels like to me. I initially ordered it as a pool cover up but honestly it’s kind of too cute for just the pool. And SO comfortable. I am in the large and like this size! It’s roomy enough without being clingy. Size up if in between sizes. Find it under $100 here!
Z Supply Sweater | Madewell Jeans | Reformation Sandals | Favorite Daughter Hat
I got these last week at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and just love them! I think they are sold out currently but if you are trying to snag them, keep an eye on them! They’ve periodically restocked them over the past week. I am in the 30, I went up one size for extra room in the waist. Find them here!
This sweater top is so comfortable and has the right amount of slouch / drape. I am in the medium and fit is true to size BUT I do find Z Supply to run small. So if you want a looser look and are in between sizes, go up one size. Find it here!
Z Supply Tank | Quince Poplin Midi Skirt | Mesh Flats | Quince Bag
I wore this outfit to the Nordstrom sale! I wanted something I could easily pull on and off and this stretchy tank and elastic waist skirt fit the bill.
Z Supply Tank | Splendid Pants | Zara Sandals | Mango Tote
Last but not least, I wore this outfit earlier this week! I ended up tossing on a sweater over it because I was a/c cold. Which is a wild thing to say in mid-July but here we are. I love these pants — they can take sitting down al day without looking too wrinkled or worn. Plus they’re a nice fit / weight for summer into fall. I am in the medium, they are slightly more fitted at the waist but overall TTS! Find them here.
The tank has a built in shelf bra and it runs slightly small. I am in the large here. Find it here!
