J.Crew is having 30% off this week (through next Monday, I believe!) Which is great timing because I wanted to share these pants this week anyways, but now on sale. These are the nicest pair of casual pants I’ve ever come across. They’re a linen-like fabric but they have more structure than linen, so they keep their shape which is the key to these pants. You want them to be a touch more structured (not stiff!) because that’s what’s reading as so chic here. Because they’re a blend they don’t wrinkle as quickly and as easily as 100% linen. There is time and a place for 100% linen, believe you me, but in defense of linen blends I love that I can get the look of linen but the structure of a poly pant. I know there has been so much discussion about synthetic fabrics, but I don’t always see a brand using synthetic fabrics as nefarious. Synthetic blends can be useful when it comes to the function of a piece, take a pleated skirt for example or even these pants to keep the structure and shape. To me these are more “office” pants and if I’m up and down all day from a desk, I wouldn’t want a linen pant that wrinkles at first blush. These pants aren’t magic, they of course wrinkle at the sit creases, but not any more than a trouser and they stay chic looking. They do however run kinda big! I’m in the large and they’re loose but I appreciate that I can wear them lower on my hips and get that extra length I’m looking for.
Find the Cosmo Pant for 30% off here!
However, if you only prefer 100% linen this pair from J.Crew (included in the sale!) would fit your needs better. I’ve had this pair before and they run loose, just like the Cosmos pant here. Just a touch more casual but the same idea.
Is it too early for flip flops? Probably but if you haven’t noticed flip flops or thongs (a real 90s throwback) are having a moment. They’ve been coming back over the past few years but this year, I’m calling it: it’s the year of the flip flop. I’ve seen platform versions, wedge versions, leather and suede. You name it, you can find it online. These are past season J.Crew, but I’ve found a very similar pair from Zara here.
I’ll do a complete round up for the J.Crew sale tomorrow but for now the sale is live here!
