If it’s October, then it’s officially sweater season (even if the weather hasn’t fully committed like I have.) Today is the last day for the 40% off at J.Crew and I combed through the sale so you don’t have to! At the end of the day, I found three standouts worth adding to your lineup and two pieces to pair with them! Each one hits that sweet spot between cozy and polished—AKA the kind of sweaters you’ll reach for on repeat. See how each one looks IRL, with fit details too!
Ribbed Boatneck Sweater
This sweater is 40% off and while it has some mixed reviews, I actually highly recommend it. The mixed reviews are about the sleeves, the length, the shape of the sleeve. To be fair, it is a bell sleeve and they can be annoying, depending on the sweater but this one didn’t bother me one bit. The sleeves are long, but you could easily cuff them as well. I am in the medium, fit is loose and the sweater itself is so so soft. Highly recommend this one! It’s a lighter weight which is nice to wear fall-spring. Loose, generous fit, super soft and non-itchy for me.
Gwen Lace Slip Skirt
I also LOVE this skirt. I bought the large but it’s too big int he waist / too long. I would prefer a medium in this skirt. It IS butter yellow, I thought it would be more candlelight but it is a more yellow hue. Stay TTS, it runs generously!

Rollneck Sweater
This is J.Crew’s famous Rollneck Sweater and while it’s not on promo, it’s such a nice essential for winter and some colors are under $100. It’s not sweater weather at all but when it is…I’ll be ready. This color way is sold out but there are so many more options, including a brown and white, if you like the mix of brown this fall. I’m in the medium and it’s a big oversized fit!
Vintage Flares
I wanted to give these flares a try because a) they were on sale and b) I’m loving this chocolate brown for fall. These are a lighter weight than denim, but stretchier than a chino. They’re a good mid-weight for fall. If you like the feel of cords but don’t like to wear cords, this is a nice alternative.
I sized up to a 30 and this fits me perfectly. My body hasn’t changed since last fall when I was in a 29, but this fall I’m in a 30. Seems to me that in J.Crew and Madewell I’m one size up in pants. I find this to be across the board for these brands, just FYI.

Oversized Cashmere Tee
This sweater I highly recommend! This is like the Madewell one – almost identical to be honest! So if you didn’t grab that one on sale, this is a good option! It may actually be a bit thicker, but overall the fit is exactly the same. I’m in the medium and it fits perfectly oversized but not boxy. I love this dark charcoal color as well and look how well it goes with the dark brown. *Chef’s kiss*
